The Hongik University Institute of Law was established in 1990 and plays a leading role in legal research in Korea through research, seminars, and journal publication.
The Center for the Study of Creativity and Law and the Northeast Asian Law Center are affiliated research institutes under the umbrella of the Institute, which currently consists of 28 professors, one research professor, and three professional researchers from Hongik University School of Law. Hongik University Law Institute publishes two academic journals annually: "Hongik Law Review" and "Northeast Asian Law Review," an English-language journal published by the Northeast Asian Law
Center. "Hongik Law Review" is published four times a year, and more than 20 excellent articles are published each time. "Northeast Asian Law Review" is a rare English-language journal in the Korean legal community, and it publishes articles by many domestic and international researchers.
The Hongik University Institute of Law holds the 'Hongik Colloquium' about eight times a year to continue research activities through presentations and discussions by expert researchers, and holds academic conferences in conjunction with domestic conferences, joint conferences with legal research institutes of other universities, and international conferences by inviting foreign scholars.
In order to contribute to national development, Hongik University Law Institute will do its best to develop convergent legal research and legal culture by focusing on 'artificial intelligence and law'.
We look forward to your participation and encouragement.
